The Value of Establishing a Dental Home

One of the best reasons to choose a general dentist for your child's care, is that you'll all be able to come to the same office, where you and your whole family can get convenient dental care for years and decades to come. You'll be better familiarized with our team and we'll be able to track your child's oral health and development as they grow. Unlike pediatric dentists, who stop seeing kids around the age of 18, family dentists like Dr. Mustafa will see patients of all ages.

This leads to better overall patient outcomes, a more convenient experience, and helps your child develop a better relationship with their dentist.

What to Expect at Your Child’s First Appointment

We’re dedicated to “happy visits” for kids at our Aubrey office. Here’s what you can expect from the process:

Treatment Plan (If Needed)

If your child needs additional treatments like a filling, we’ll let you know right away, and schedule their next appointment. Otherwise, you’ll just schedule a consultation for your child’s next cleaning, and you’ll be on your way!

Pediatric Cleanings & Exams

Did you know that kids should see the dentist for the first time when their first tooth comes out, or when they turn one year old?

This may seem early, but frequent, consistent cleanings help your child get more familiar with the dentist, and allow Dr. Mustafa to track their oral health and development over time.

By seeing us regularly for pediatric cleanings and oral exams every six months, you can improve your child’s overall oral health, and help them form great life-long oral health habits.

So don’t wait. If your little one is overdue for a consultation, get in touch with 1385 Dental Studio in Aubrey, TX now to schedule the dental care your child needs.

Treatments for Cavities

Along with pediatric fillings, 1385 Dental Studio offers a few other services to restore your child’s mouth and protect them from cavities.

Silver Diamine Fluoride

Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) uses a mixture of silver, ammonia, fluoride, and water. This solution is applied directly to the decayed tooth, and it kills the bacteria and prevents further deterioration of the tooth. This is a great non-invasive alternative to fillings. However, it does permanently discolor the tooth, so it’s only recommended for use on baby teeth.

Dental fillings & Stainless Steel Crowns

Dental fillings are great for treating small cavities and in cases of more extensive tooth decay, we may recommend stainless steel crowns. They require minimal tooth preparation, are pre-fitted for your child’s mouth, and offer superior protection compared to fillings, particularly for large cavities.
